What Happens During Root Canal Treatment?
Dr. Hawryluk begins by creating a small opening in the tooth to access the pulp and root canal system. A dental dam is then placed to isolate the tooth, maintain a clean working field, and protect the patient during treatment.
Using the Global dental microscope and specialized instruments, the canals are carefully cleaned, shaped, and disinfected. An electronic Root ZX apex locator helps determine the working length of the canals, while modern files assist with efficient cleaning and shaping.
Once the canals have been thoroughly cleaned, they are sealed with Gutta Percha and root canal cement. A dental crown may then be recommended to strengthen and protect the treated tooth.
